Bought the amp in 96 and its been sterling, I kept it pristine and used as an emergency amp. Having another 2 sometimes 3 amps it was more of an amp for home. It had sat in cold winters in my kichen in a flight case and all of a sudden nothing but the fan when turning on. Realised the damp/cold had caused issues with the connection between the transformer to the circuit board. The fitting connector that actually connects the mains and earth etc was suseptable to the cold/damp. A shot of switch cleaner would remedy it. However the last time it happened the amp began to pop loudly when turning standby on. Ive been told a resistor being soldered to the right places on the internal part of the switch will cure it. I just need someone with the knowledge and/or circuit diagram to help point me in the right direction. Im no electrician, but decided I needed to get pro-active and bought a soldering iron. Ive repaired leads, fitted jack inputs I just dont have the money or will to trail with my bass to a shop to do something I should of got into 20 year ago. I wouldnt have the confidence to start messing with internal parts on an amp but with the correct information I would try, but the level of expertise to solder on a circuit board is beyond my cack handed abilities. Hope someone can help as I have read this is a common issue on the AH250 SMX. Appreciate any help or input. THX

Im replying again to my own thread to see if anyone could furnish me with the PDF of where to place the 1 mega-ohm insulator to cut out the pop when pressing stand-by. Im struggling, common sense would dictate it to an electrician, that I am not. If anyone has an idea I'd be really gratefull. Mark.
